ESL Cologne 2017 set huge numbers as the organization revealed today that 15,000 attended the event live this year. This is the highest turnout for any ESL event since its inception in 2014.
Ulrich Schulze, Vice President of Pro Gaming at ESL stated..
“Our fans have named LANXESS arena and ESL One Cologne the ‘Cathedral of Counter-Strike’ and we couldn’t be prouder. It’s been incredibly rewarding and humbling at the same time to see how much this event has grown and improved over the years. We will continue building its legacy for years to come, and are looking forward to making it even better next year.”
As far as viewership goes, online and linear viewership reached over 62 million sessions, and accounted for more than 13 million hours of consumed content. This is great news for both ESL and the CS:GO community.
