In a new study conducted by Peanut Labs, 40% of gamers do not view esports as “real sports” or its players as “legitimate athletes.” The study was done by questioning 1,020 players of games such as League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Call of Duty and Minecraft.
The survey also noted that 55% of League of Legends players express a feeling of satisfaction after winning a game compared to 40% of Call of Duty players. They also found that more females watch more esports than males with 65% of females saying they spend 1-4 hours a day watching esports.
