Reports from Seattle-based NBC affiliate KING 5 have stated that Dov Katz, Oculus’ head of computer vision, was arrested for “commercial sexual abuse of a minor.” Katz was arrested after soliciting a prostitute that he believed was 19 years old, but was actually 15.
Katz had mentioned to police upon his arrest that he was there to “rescue her and call police,” but according to documents obtained by Geekwire, Katz knew very well she was underage. Other text messages from the report mentioned that Katz used his number for the encounter, bought condoms, and whether the girl would consent to underage sex.
