GameStop seems to be in yet another predicament as thanks to a new video from Camelot331, several employees reached out to him saying that they will likely be losing their health insurance benefits they have received through GameStop. This is due to many stores either currently or formerly closed due to COVID-19. The company gives benefits to all employees, even part-time associates, who work an average of 30 hours per week over the previous 12 months. However, since many stores have been shut down for the past month or two, several associates might be losing benefits and will not be able to get them back for at least a year.
Interestingly, a post popped up on the GameStop subreddit from a Senior Game Advisor asking if anyone else had received this letter. The thread was quickly locked by moderators with some saying that it was an error and that the video was misleading.
At the time of publishing, GameStop have not made an official statement.
