GameStop have announced that effective March 26, 2021 that their Chief Financial Officer Jim Bell is resigning from his position and the company will be looking for another person to fill the role.
The company also revealed that senior VP and chief accounting officer Diana Jajeh will be appointed to Intrim CFO if a permanent successor is now found between now and March 26.
In the SEC filing, GameStop stated:
“Mr. Bell’s resignation was not because of any disagreement with the Company on any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices, including accounting principles and practices.”
One interesting thing that people have noted publicly is that in his contract, Bell has a “Good Reason” clause and since he is resigning for “Good Reason” he will receive a severance package worth $2.8 million.
