First noticed by SteamDB creator Pavel Djundik, the latest Steam client beta feature mentions Valve’s “Neptune” controller with the name “SteamPal” (NeptuneName) and “SteamPal Games” (GameList_View_NeptuneGames). The code also features strings relating to brightness, power, Bluetooth, Wifi, device settings and airplane mode.
This has led to speculation that Valve could be working on their own handheld console and would essentially operate as a portable Steam machine. Others believe it could be a version of the Nvidia Shield and make use of Steam Link to stream games from your computer
