Thanks to SNES Central in conjunction with the Video Game History Foundation, has released a near final prototype for the classic side-scroller Congo’s Caper. This prototype did not have any changes that SNES Central could find compared to the final release other than the loading screen takes longer on the prototype version.
Congo’s Caper originally released in Japan back in 1992 on the Super Famicom under the name Tatakae Genshijin 2: Rūkī no Bōken (Caveman Combat 2: The Adventures of Rookie) and was developed by Data East. The game saw a release in both Europe and North America in mid-1993 to rave reviews.
You can download the ROM of the prototype here.
