Ubisoft Reported Facing “An Exodus” Of Talent Leaving Company

According to a new report by Axios, developers at Ubisoft are leaving in droves in what some are referring to as “the great exodus.”

The report says that “at least five of the top 25-credited people” involved with the development of their upcoming game Far Cry 6 have left and “12 of the top 50” from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla have also left. This isn’t just high level positions, both their Toronto and Montreal offices have lost at least 60 employees each according to LinkedIn.

Axios interviewed a dozen current and former employees with many noting big issues with both the “creative direction” and low pay. Other reasons noted were rival companies offering competitive wages and benefits as well as the ongoing workplace misconduct scandal it has faced for over a year.

While the company have since issued pay raises for employees in Canada, other studios are wondering if and when they will also be compensated.
