According to sources for games journalist Tom Henderson, Electronic Arts are said to be extremely disappointed at the sales and reception of Battlefield 2042. So much so they are “looking at all the options” for the title including making some parts of the game free to play.
Despite being extremely hyped prior to launch, Battlefield 2042 was panned by both fans and critics alike since launch. So much so that at times previous titles Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1 have had higher concurrent player numbers on Steam.
