In the latest piece on Xbox Wire, Microsoft revealed they are currently rolling out some new energy saving features to Xbox Insiders’ testers.
The goal of this update is to have your console schedule updates when a larger proportion of electronic is coming from a lower-carbon energy source. Once the update is completed, the console will automatically be placed in the Shutdown (energy saving) power option.
Another addition is a new feature called ‘Active hours’ which allows the player to choose the Sleep power option to adjust the system’s active hours. This will allow the system to boot up out of Sleep Mode and fully shut down the console outside of active hours. This would cut down the amount of energy use by 66%.
