Nintendo Parts Ways With Yasha Haddaji

As confirmed to Eurogamer, Nintendo of Europe has parted ways with general manager Yasha Haddaji.

Haddaji has been at the center of controversy for some time dating all the way back to April 2019 where for having an outburst during a livestream. Most recently, Haddaji was found to have formed his own company known as Achivka who has allegedly been importing Nintendo titles to Russia. This is used as a loophole to get around sanctions against Russia that were put into place by numerous countries after the invasion of Ukraine.

Not only that, but Achivka was also found to have their address as the exact same as Nintendo Russia’s headquarters.

A spokesperson for Nintendo told Eurogamer:

“To honour preceding commitments to our customers and ensure service continuity, Nintendo entered into a temporary cooperation with… Achivka as its official supplier for repair and warranty for Nintendo products that had already been sold in the Russian market.”
