The Gears of War eSports scene has taken a huge leap as Gears Esports and The Coalition have announced the second season of the Gears of War Pro Circuit will have a $2 Million prize pool. This is double the prize pool as the previous season.
Gears Esports said in a statement..
“Gears players from around the world can compete in marquee live open events for a starting $1,000,000 in cash prizes. With the addition of new regional events and grassroots tournaments, plus crowdfunding through Esports Supporter Packs, the total prize pool for season two is expected to reach $2,000,000.”
Gears Esports also announced they will be increasing travel coverage in season two. This will see a certain number of squads from each region will receive travel coverage depending on where the tournament is located.
“Latin America events will see a big increase to the top eight North American teams, top eight Latin American teams, and top three European teams all receiving travel coverage. North American Minor events cover the top eight North American teams, top three Latin American teams, and top three European teams. MLG Major events will cover the top eight North American teams, top four Latin American teams, and top four European teams.”
