Los Angeles Overwatch League Team Now The Los Angeles Gladiators

The Los Angeles-based Overwatch League team, led by Kroenke Sports & Entertainment’, announced their team will be called the Los Angeles Gladiators.

The team will consist of former members of Cloud9, Team Gigantti, and Kungarama. These members include  Lane “Surefour” Roberts, Jung Sung “Asher” Choi, João Pedro “Hydration” Goes Telle,  Aaron “Bischu” Kim,  Jonas “Shaz” Suovaara,Benjamin “BigG00se” Isohanni and Luis “iRemiix” Galarza Figueroa. Former Kungarama coach David “dpei” Pei will be the head coach while Timothy “Tim” Albanese will act as the assistant coach.

Josh Kroenke, President of the Denver Nugets and Co-Founder of KSE Esports, said in a statement..

“Gladiators were the original superstars of sports and entertainment. Their fierce competitiveness and willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice captured the hearts of millions of people of all backgrounds for centuries. Those epic battles became the foundation for modern day sports. Their impact still resonates on the silver screen, with scores of films chronicling the rise of the gladiators and their importance to societies of yesteryear.”

For those a little confused. Los Angeles will have two teams in the Overwatch League. The KSE Esports’ owned Gladiators and the Immortals-owned Los Angeles Valiant.
