According to Nintendo’s earnings release, Super Mario Maker has already sold 1.8 million copies worldwide since its release on September 11. These numbers also include copies bundled with hardware as well as digital downloads. Nintendo also noted that 20% of all copies sold were in Japan.
This is considered a huge success given that it’s exclusive to the Wii U and the system has not sold nearly as many units as the Playstation 4 worldwide.
