According to VTM News, Belgium has now declared loot boxes to be a form of gambling. Belgium’s Minister of Justice Koen Geens said that it is “Mixing gambling and gaming, especially at a young age, is dangerous for the mental health of the child,” while the Gaming Commission declared it as “The mixing of money and addiction is gambling.”
Geens even went on to add..
“But that takes time, because we have to go to Europe. We will certainly try to ban it.”
The country will now be attempting to remove any and all in-game purchases that involve luck.
