There are rumors that Crytek Shanghai have closed its doors due to not paying building rent and has also reportedly not paid their employees haven’t been paid since September of last year.
This comes after reports surfaced from Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad took to Twitter to say that employees were promised salary payments (possibly in one large sum), but Crytek is in such financial trouble that they couldn’t even afford to pay rent on the building and have since closed. Ahmad also posted the following image reportedly sent to Crytek Shanghai employees addressing the situation.
Please keep in mind this is still a rumor and nothing has been confirmed by Crytek, or any employees within the studio.
