Staffordshire University has become the first university in the U.K. to offer a degree in eSports.
The course will focus on the business part of eSports and will teach students how to create events and market eSports events for games such as DOTA2, Overwatch, League of Legends, and Counter Strike.
The course will take place over a three-year period with your first year being an introduction to the industry and learning how to stream on platforms such as Twitch and Hitbox. This year will also have you organize an event for a solo game such as Super Smash Bros. or Hearthstone.
Year two will have students develop team-based events and how to cast matches effectively.
Year three will see students work with the university to develop a large-scale commercial event around esports. The students will make their own esports company, which will teach them hands-how about effectively running a business in the industry.
