Metro: Exodus Will Not Be Open World

In an interview with Geoff Keighley, Metro: Exodus Executive Producer John Bloch confirmed that the game will not be open world, but will feature some of its elements. Stating..

“We like to think of it as the best of both. There’s still parts of the game that have that classic Metro linear feel, and then there’s some parts of this game that have this new, larger, non-linear gameplay, which we’re calling ‘sandbox survival’.”

“It still incorporates elements of classic Metro, which are the combat, exploration and survival, and it just provides more of that to the player in each of those locations.” That definitely sounds promising. The prospect of playing a game with focuses on surviving in a harsh, open, post-apocalyptic environment is an exciting one indeed, and we’re curious to see how deep 4A Games take this aspect of the game.”
Metro: Exodus is in development for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
