Many were caught off guard when Atari announced they were getting back into the console market with the Ataribox. Now it appears more information is made available hinting that it could be similar to the NES Classic Edition.
According to The Verge, prospective players have been told “[its] objective is to create something new, that stays true to [its] heritage, while appealing to both old and new fans of Atari,” and will feature two HDMI ports, four USB ports and has SD card support.
Atari have still not mentioned what kind of specs are powering the system, but did state..
“We know you are hungry for more details; on specs, games, pricing, timing. We’re not teasing you intentionally; we want to get this right, so we’ve opted to share things step by step as we bring this to life, and to listen closely to the Atari community feedback as we do so.”
