According to court documents obtained by Segment Next from the United States District Court for the Central District of California, Activision are currently involved in a lawsuit with the owners of Warzone.com.
Interestingly, Activision did admit that Warzone.com were the first out of the two to use the Warzone trademark back in 2017, but the company are still hoping they can win the case in order to protect their Warzone trademark related to Call of Duty.
Activision are claiming “its use of the Warzone trademark as the title for its [Call of Duty] game is protected under the First Amendment” and are seeking damages for “reverse trademark infringement.”
Warzone.com is web-based strategy board game that originally released back in 2008 as WarLight, but was later renamed to Warzone in 2018.
