During E3, AMD said it would ship their Fiji Gemini Card (the unofficial name for the Radeon R9 Fury X2) before Christmas and that of course never happened.
Since then, AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su said it will now be released in 2016 to be released closer to the launch of the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Dr. Su said..
“The product schedule for Fiji Gemini had initially been aligned with consumer HMD availability, which had been scheduled for Q4 2015 back in June. Due to some delays in overall VR ecosystem readiness, HMDs are now expected to be available to consumers by early Q2 2016. To ensure the optimal VR experience, we’re adjusting the Fiji Gemini launch schedule to better align with the market.”
