The moment that Overwatch players around the world has finally happened. Blizzard have announced their Overwatch League regular season will start on January 10 with preseason exhibition matches starting on December 6.
Each match will be held at Blizzard’s new esports arena in Burbank, California at the Blizzard Arena Los Angeles, which is the former studio that The Tonight Show was filmed out of.
Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime said in a statement..
“With the first 12 teams in place, we’re now just a few short months away from the inaugural season of the Overwatch League. This is a huge milestone for the league. We can’t wait for the action to get underway and to see some of the top competitive Overwatch players in the world facing off to become the first-ever Overwatch League champions.”
Finally, the company revealed the final three slots in their Overwatch League. These include Comcast Spectator in Philadelphia, Team Envy in Dallas, and OpTic Gaming in Houston.
