Call of Duty Quality Assurance Testers Laid Off

Some more bad news have come out related to Activision Blizzard as a Call of Duty community manager named Austin O’Brien revealed that quality assurance testers at Raven Software were laid off. Some of them have already left while others while others will still be employed until January 28.

What makes this situation worse is that O’Brien said that the QA tests have been promised raises by Activision for several months. Stating:

I am gutted right now. My friends in QA at Raven were promised, for months, that Activision was working towards a pay restructure to increase their wages. Today, one by one, valuable members of the team were called into meetings and told they were being let go.

These people were asked to relocate to Madison, WI to work here. Now they are out of a job on January 28th. Our QA team does incredible work but this will not only increase their workload but crush morale. If any industry friends have open positions, please share them.

A source at Raven Software told Kotaku that employees have been finding out who was let go by word of mouth which has caused more worry for those within Quality Assurance. One source said:

“This wasn’t a normal end. They just decided to gut the studio. I’ve heard so far that they’ve lost 1/3 of their QA and it is still ongoing into next week.
