The Chinese League of Legends Pro League have announced that the upcoming season is suspended due to the current outbreak of the Coronavirus within the country.
The organization said in a Twitter post:
We have decided to postpone week 2 of the LPL until we can ensure the safety and health of our players and fans. To our fans, we sincerely apologize that it has come to this and we will share any and all info as soon as we can. Stay Safe and thank you all for your support!
This might be due to the Chinese government stepping in as they have largely restricted travel and banned large gatherings in major cities within the country in order to stop the spread of this virus.
The statement did not provide when the season would be starting.
