In what some believe to have been inevitable, the Dallas Fuel have announced they have released tank player Félix “xQc” Lengyel from their roster.
Dallas Fuel owner Mike Rufail said in a statement..
“There are few players out there who have achieved as much success in as short a time as Félix has in competitive Overwatch. Ultimately, it was in the best interest of our organization and Félix to part ways before the expiration of his contract. No one wants to see Félix succeed more than we do, and we believe he has a bright future ahead of him.”
xQc was easily the most talked about player in the Overwatch League, but not for all the right reasons. This past January, xQc received a four-game suspension and $4,000 fine after making a homophobic remark at Houston Outlaw player Austin “Muma” Wilmot. It doesn’t help that just this past Friday xQc received the same punishment for using “disparaging language against Overwatch League casters and fellow players on social media and on his personal stream.”
While xQc’s future within the Overwatch League is uncertain, many believe he will continue to stream the game as he is currently one of the most watched Overwatch streamers on Twitch.
