According to a report by Forbes, popular chat application Discord is being investigated by the FBI. This is due to people using it not just for gaming, but unsolicited cybercriminal activity and attempts to use the service as a way to groom underage children.
A spokesperson told Forbes:
“Though we do not read people’s private messages, we do investigate and take immediate action against any reported violation by a server or user. We work closely with law enforcement agencies in their investigations when appropriate to ensure and strengthen the safety of our community members.”
