The folks over at Segment Next were able to look at Sony’s patent for the Playstation 5’s DualSense controller to figure out some details on its built-in microphone.
In this patent, it explains that the microphone will be able to eliminate crosstalk by identifying which user has the controller. Part of the patient reads as follows:
Moreover, when multiple controllers are utilized, then the captured audio data from the multiple controllers can be analyzed in combination, along with the locations and orientations of the controllers, to enable determination of the locations from which sounds originate with high levels of accuracy.
