In a recent interview with JPGames, Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires producer Akihiro Suzuki to discuss the game and the Musou genre. In the interview, Suzuki was asked what series would he love to make a Musou crossover with with Suzuki replying Star Wars has his top pick. Stating:
Within the dev team, a lot of different IPs and works have been brought up. This is solely my own opinion, but my own personal wish would be for a Star Wars crossover.
When asked what kind of content would be playable in the demo and if cross-save would be implemented, Suzuki said:
The demo includes castle sieges (invasion battles and defensive battles), action tutorial and the Edit Mode. Although there are some restrictions to the voices and actions that can be selected in the Edit Mode, the features are the same as the full game version, and customised officers created in the demo can be carried over to the full game.
Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires is currently available in Japan and releases worldwide on February 15, 2022 for Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and PC.
