Thanks to English outlet The Mirror we have learned that Electronic Arts are investigation an going issue with hackers. An EA Sports spokesperson told Mirror Football:
“We’ve been made aware of recent account takeover attempts and are currently investigating.”
“More information on how to secure your account, including how to enable two-factor authentication, can be found here: https://help.ea.com/en/help/account/how-to-maintain-account-security/ .”
One of these users is FUT Donkey who has publicly taken to Twitter to say they plan on taking legal action against Electronic Arts. Donkey claims to have tried telling EA Live chat twice that someone was attempting to hack them and to lock their account and not change any details. Despite this, his account still managed to get changed. Stating:
I told EA live chat 2 times to add notes to my account to put that my account was being targeted by hackers and to not change any details, and they still did it. Nothing more I could have done and tbh I shouldn’t have to do anything. It is basic security, disgusting stuff.
Electronic Arts has started to work with some of the victims, but it’s unknown just how many there are in total.
