Facepunch Cancel GDC Meet-Ups Due To Threats

Facepunch Studios, the developers behind Rust, have announced they are cancelling meet-ups at this year’s Game Developers Conference due to ongoing threats against their staff.

This is not a statement we’re happy to announce. Due to an IRL threat we must take seriously, we’re going to have to cancel the GDC meetup in San Fran next week.

Speaking with PC Gamer, producer Alistair McFarlane claimed that a majority of these threats come directly from cheat makers and the users of these types of programs.
