At E3 2016, only 4 press members were allowed to play a hands-on demo of the highly anticipated Playstation 4 title The Last Guardian. One of these press members was Patrick Garratt of VG 24/7 and has already published his thoughts of the demo.
According to Garratt, the textures in The Last Guardian are “flat,” and that the lighting and particle effects are “prehistoric.” This would indicate that it is possible it was using an earlier build of the game, or that the trailer was entirely misleading.
Garratt didn’t stop there as he also said the in-game prompts either didn’t work, or match the controls at all. He also claimed that the gameplay itself was rough and the visuals were dated. Despite pretty much saying nothing postive, Garratt did state he enjoyed Trico and the game’s puzzles.

The Last Guardian will be released on October 25 exclusively on Playstation 4.
