Fnatic Cut Most Of Their Overwatch Roster

European esports organization Fnatic have become the latest team to cut their Overwatch roster. Other teams that have followed suit include TSM, Team Dignitas, Denial, Red Reserve, Splyce. This is due to the uncertainty surrounding Blizzard’s upcoming Overwatch League. Fnatic said in a statement..

“We still think it’s an awesome game; one that we hope will grow and thrive in the many years to come. At this point though, we feel it’s best that Fnatic take a step back to evaluate the game as a competitive title and give ourselves a healthy amount of time to explore our options.”

Those cut from the roster include support players Marccus “Realzx” Vining and Scott “Custa” Kennedy, DPS players Casey “buds” McIlwaine and Hafþór “Hafficool” Hákonarsonis, tank Warsi “Stoop” Faraaz Waris, and flex Matthew “coolmatt69” Iorio. Oliver “Vonethil” Lager will stay with the organization as a streamer.

Former Fnatic Coach Robert “Roflgator” Malecki stated the following..

“It’s really unfortunate that things had to end this way. Fnatic is a huge organization and I felt honored to represent them all over the world. This isn’t the last you will hear of any of us. We will work hard to get into the Overwatch League and become the team we know we can be.”
