The Kickstarter campaign for Friday The 13th: The Game has been receiving some major press over the past couple of weeks and it’s really paying off.
So far the game as reached 75% of its goal with a total over $540,000 raised. The goal is currently set at $700,000 and is expected to exceed this goal. Gun Media, IllFonic, and Crystal Lake Entertainment are so convinced they have added some more stretch goals including the option of playing as Pamela Voorhees, as well as the ability to recreate some of the famous kills from the Friday the 13th.
Sean S. Cunningham, creator of Friday the 13th franchise had this to say…
“It’s been nearly 30 years since fans have had the opportunity to experience a Friday the 13th video game. Technology has finally reached a level that allows us to produce an experience fans of the franchise deserve. It’s always been a dream of mine to let players fully BECOME Jason, and stalk camp counselors across a virtual Crystal Lake. I’m delighted we’re able to bring this fantasy to life!“
The game is currently scheduled for a Fall 2016 release on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.
