GameStop Employees Walk Out After Store Manager Fired For Refusing Promotion

Yet another GameStop location has had enough and has resulted in all of their employees walking out from their positions. A redditor going by ticolino_123 posted on the official GameStop subreddit their entire store has left in support of their Store Manager. This store manager, who also goes by the Reddit username Chlazzy-Blue was let go from their position after they refused an offer to be “promoted” to SL2. SL2 is a position where someone acts as the store manager for two locations in their area with a very small increase in pay. Other store managers have noted that the pay raise is on average $1.00 to $1.25 per hour

Chlazzy-Blue stated:

SL in question here. I am so fortunate for the team I had. I didn’t ask them to do this with me, but they stood their ground from the moment I told them what happened a week ago. Absolute amazing team.

This isn’t the first time an entire store has participated in a walkout. Last June, a GameStop located at the Gameway Mall in Lincoln Nebraska due to abuse from their district manager and terrible working conditions. One of these former employees had noted there had been 4 walkouts between August 2021 and June 2022 at this store alone.
