During their latest quarterly financial conference call, GameStop CFO Robert Lloyd revealed that the Xbox One “underperformed” against the Playstation 4 in both new and pre-owned sales, but believes this is due to the upcoming launch of the Xbox One X.
Speaking of Xbox One X, GameStop is “pleased” with the consumer response to the new console despite pre-orders being very early. Given that the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition sold out in a matter of hours and passed the PS4 Pro on Amazon’s best-sellers list, it’s very possible that GameStop has received some major interest.
