GameStop Walks Back $5 Monthly Coupon Eligibility

Thanks to a moderator over at the GameStop subreddit, we have learned that corporate has sent out e-mails to stores noting they are making adjustments to their $5 monthly coupon Power Up Rewards members receive every month. The message states:

After carefully reviewing the feedback received form our store associates and customers, we have decided to align January’s $5 monthly PRO coupon inclusion/exclusion list with what it previously was in December. these changes are effective today, 1.06.

Additionally, we will be doing work over the next month to accomplish the following:

  1. Ensure that the included/excluded SKU’s for this coupon are right for both the business and the customer
  2. Ensure store employees can easily understand and reference what is included/excluded
  3. enable customers to easily discover what is included/excluded

we appreciate all the candid feedback we received from everyone in stores.

Gamers had issues throughout the month of December after many noted that their $5 off coupon would not work on DLC or Point of Sale Activation Cards (POSA) as they did in previous months. The moderator does note that this is only good for the January 2022 coupon and that this could still change at any time due to how the PUR program’s Terms and Conditions is set.
