There has been major criticism with Compulsion Games and We Happy Few in regards to their price hike. When the game entered Steam Early Access, the game retailed for $29.99 and shortly after Gearbox became their publisher, the price increased to $59.99.
This has led to Gearbox Senior Designer Matt Cox to take to Twitter and say that was not their idea and that it was Compulsion Games’ idea after adding more content.
"We" didn't do that. $29 was set before the huge reception of WHF & Compulsion chose to add a campaign & content worthy of full retail. 🙂
