Golf, one of the first sports games for the Nintendo Entertainment System had one of its records broken today. While Golf isn’t played that much for speedrunning purposes, many still have fond memories of the game with gamers trying to figure out what the courses look similar to.
*Fun Fact: Koji Kondo, the composer of Super Mario Bros. also composed the music for this game as well.
A speedrunner who goes by SteezWhiz set the world record for Golf under the category that requires players to only use the 1 Wood and Putter. He did it with a time of 8 minutes 34 seconds. What’s also amazing is that this exact same run also placed him in 2nd place under the Complete Hole 18 category as well.
