According to a new report by ESPN’s Jacob Wolf, Paris France and Guangzhou China will be joining the Overwatch League next season.
Wolf’s source says that the deals are very close to being finalized with both McCourt Global and China’s Nenking Group. Neking Group owns the Chinese Basketball Association team Guangzhou Long-Lions while McCourt Global owns Olympique de Marseilles.
This make sense as Overwatch Commissioner Nate Nanzer confirmed back in mid-April that the Overwatch League would be expanding next season with Europe being a huge target with these slots rumored to cost between $30-$60 million.
To add more fuel to the fire, New York Excelsior player Park “Saebyeolbe” Jong-ryoel told Dot Esports that he has heard that six new slots will be joining OWL.
Other rumored locations include Hong Kong, Berlin, Amsterdam, Chicago, and Sydney.
