Joshua Rubin, the writer for Destiny, has announced via Twitter that he is leaving Bungie to join Telltale Games. When asked by Gamasutra he reasoning for leaving, he replied that his big reason was to focus more on story aspects of games and not the FPS games that Bungie is famous for. Below is an excerpt…
“In the end, Bungie makes games about shooting aliens in the head. And while there’s a true art to ‘writing between the bullets’ – as Mr. Staten once said – I couldn’t turn down an offer from Telltale, to create games that are entirely about story,”
Rubin will be the writer for Telltale’s upcoming Game of Thrones adaptation, and is also rumored to be involved with their upcoming Borderland’s spinoff Tales from the Borderlands.
