Despite currently being in a “quiet period” Intellivision released an unboxing video for the Amico. This video is presented by current Intellivision CTO John Alvarado showing off the contents of the box as well as how to set up the console to a modern television.
Needless to say people have been very skeptical about the video from the get go as the video has comments disabled. One person who has been very outspoken has been Smash JT who pointed out several issues he had with the video. JT noted that the box had been opened prior to the video being filmed as the power supply did not contain a factory sealed wrapper and boxes had indentions on them. This is likely due to Alvarado noting this particular unit would be shipped to Europe so that Intellivision Europe president Hans Ippisch can demonstrate it to their European partners. The video also contained a jump cut between when the console was powered on to displaying the menu screen thus not showing boot up times or if they had display issues.
The Intellivision Amico is still slated to release this quarter which ends of March 31, 2022. You can view the unboxing video down below:
