This week marks the 600 issue of Dengeki Playstation in Japan and to celebrate the occasion, the magazine did a small Q&A with Capcom. During the small interview, they asked Resident Evil Producer Masachika Kawata some questions regarding the franchise.
Kawata answered 3 questions. The first was his thoughts on the Resident Evil series losing its horror touch the series is known for. Kawata replied…
“Since there’s been more spinoff titles, I can see how it can be perceived in such a way. And of course I believe that we should produce titles that bring out the horror. I’m thinking about it and also preparing for it.”
The second was if there will ever be a HD remake of either Resident Evil 3 or Outbreak. Kawata stated..
“The hurdle is high, but we’d like to respond to as much demand as possible. ”
Finally, they asked about Resident Evil 7. Kawata simply said..
“We’re currently not at a state to talk about it… but please stay tuned.”
