Huge news in the world of gaming journalism as one of the most famous journalist in gaming, Leigh Alexander, has announced she is retiring from games journalism after her games blog Offworld failed to take off.
Alexander was once considered a rising star in the world of gaming journalism with publications of Paste Magazine and The Escapist. However, her rise was shot down back in September 14 when she wrote an article on Gamasutra urging developers to distance themselves from those who refer to themselves as “gamers”. She referred to them as “wailing consumers” and “obtuse shitslingers” while also saying that “‘gamers’ are over”.
Leigh Alexander has since stated she will be crowdfunding a book that will feature Offworld’s features.
