Nintendo originally got into the North American market by releasing their games on systems like the ColecoVision and the Atari 2600.
Speaking of Atari 2600, a Mario Bros. prototype cartridge has surfaced on eBay. The cart was tested and is confirmed to be real. The seller dunkindealz, has a feedback score of 3987 and has a 99.7% positive feedback score.
The current asking price for the prototype is $2,500.
