Metal Max Xeno producer Juntaro Kono revealed on Twitter that sales of the game have topped 50,000 copies within Japan in just two days. While the exact number was not revealed, the previous highest-selling game in the Metal Max franchise was Metal Max 3 on Nintendo DS which sold 50,838 copies.
Metal Max Xeno is available in Japan for PS Vita and Playstation 4.
