Microsoft Say They Have ‘No Plans’ To Discontinue Xbox Live Gold

In a recent statement sent to The Verge, Microsoft stated they currently have no plans to discontinue Xbox Live Gold. A spokesperson said:

“We have no plans to discontinue Xbox Live Gold at this time. It is an important part of gaming on Xbox today, and will continue to be in the future.”

Rumors started circulating after Xbox Infinite was announced to feature free-to-play multiplayer and online multiplayer games are currently only available to Xbox Live Gold members.
