Microsoft Stops Manufaturing Kinect

The Kinect is officially dead. In an interview with FastCoDesign, Kinect Creator Alex Kipman and General Manager of Xbox Devices Marketing Matthew Lapsen has confirmed that manufacturing of the Kinect has stopped permanently.

Since it was released in November 2010, Kinect went on to sell 35 million units. While many felt it was just a waste of space, the technology went on to be used in HoloLens, Cortana, and Windows Hello.
