Mojang Studios have announced that their augmented reality game Minecraft Earth will be shutting down on June 30, 2021.
In the announcement, the company notes that COVID-19 had a strong effect as the game “was designed around free movement and collaborative play – two things that have become near impossible in the current global situation.”
Starting on July 1, any player data not related to the Character Creator or Minecoin entitlements will be deleted.
