Netflix Reportedly Entering World of Video Games

According to a new report by Mark Gurman and Lucas Shaw at Bloomberg, Netflix are looking to expand into the video game space in more ways than just TV shows.

Netflix have reportedly hired former Facebook and Electronic Arts executive Mike Verdu as vice president of game development, who would be reporting directly to Netflix COO Greg Peters. The article also that according to an anonymous source within Netflix, the company’s goal is to offer video games on their streaming platform within the next year.

A team for its gaming team are expected to be hired over the next few months and have already started advertising for game-development related positions on their website.

Netflix, nor any video game company, have made any sort of announcement regarding this report.
