The Toronto Defiant have announced that their assistant coach Matthew “Optidox” Sims has parted ways with the company and is entering free agency.
Optidox said in a TwitLonger:
First off, I’d like to thank everyone at Defiant and Rebellion for giving me the chance to coach at the highest level with some of the best folks I’ve ever worked with. My time in Montreal and LA was truly unforgettable, and I’ll cherish the memories I made in these past months.
Moving on though, I’m LFT as assistant or head coach for OWL or Academy.
Most recently, I was with Toronto Defiant for Stage 4 and with Montreal Rebellion as their only coach for their first four matches (record: 3-1).
Before that, I coached Angry Titans to a 2nd place season, a 1st place season, and 3rd place Showdown performance.
My core strengths as a coach are managing team structure and environment, scouting, strategy (with an emphasis on counterstrategy), and teaching.
